Some facts and figures The yearly production of asphalt in the Netherlands is 7 to 8 million tonnes. Approximately 50 stationary mixing plants produce this quantity. All these plants are equipped to recycle reclaimed asphalt. The Dutch road contractors own these mixing plants. In most cases two or more contractors participate in one mixing plant.
12/9/2020 · In this bio-asphalt, fossil bitumen has been replaced by lignin of biobased origin. In the various layers this asphalt is used in different compositions and partly also mixed with recycled asphalt. Never before had a complete road construction consisted of this composition. Until now, test strips have been laid in the Netherlands of which only the top layer contains lignin.
2/6/2021 · The production of the bio-asphalt will also take place in Groningen, at Asfalt Production Westerbroek (APW) in Westerbroek. The Chemport Europe ecosystem in the Dutch northern region is known as a leader in green chemistry and in reducing CO2 emissions.
